NEWSFLASH………..NEWSFLASH…………2018 / 2019 season starts THIS WEEKEND

The start to the 2018/19 season is upon us. Training has started and pre-season friendlies are already being played with our first league matches starting on Saturday.

Whilst it’s been quiet on the football pitches here’s an update on what’s been happening through the summer break.

VENUES

Brilliant news that we are continuing our alliance with our Cricket Partners at Holmfirth CC and Cartworth Moor CC. Both venues provide excellent playing surfaces for the boys to play football on and both have first class facilities for our tuck shops to generate vital funds for the Club.

The U8 and U12 groups join the U10’s and U11’s basing themselves for their home matches at Holmfirth CC as the U4/5/6 and 7’s continue playing and training at Cartworth Moor CC.

Shoot 5 has been secured again for this year’s in-door training for when the weather turns. Although sometimes it feels colder indoors than outdoors at S5…..without doubt the best training facilities we could ever provide our players in the winter months.

SPONSORS

A big “thank you” to Fred Shaw, Frank Tucker and Selwoods Pump Rental Solutions for continuing their kit sponsorship and a massive “welcome” and “thank you” to new kit sponsors 60 Sticks for the U11 group and Group Electrical Surveys for the U10 group.

If any other business’s would like to discuss sponsorship opportunities in any form within our Club please do make your Team Manager aware so they can arrange for a club representative to talk to you.  Such arrangements are hugely welcomed as provide much needed ongoing funds.

GROUP NEWS

Brilliant news that our two Shaun’s are signed up to continue providing their great training and development sessions. The feedback, not just from within our own club but by other clubs, on the quality of football our groups play is testament to the commitment and the passion the Shaun’s put in – great work guys.

Congratulations to Matthew Webster who is the new Team Manager of the U8 group – good luck to you Matthew and the boys for the forthcoming season. All groups have great Team Managers in place and as always supported by lots and lots of enthusiastic and helpful parents (and siblings…..).

We now have an U4 group which our Chairman, Andrew, will be managing along with his U5/6 and 7 groups. All these groups continue to thrive in numbers and the intake at these ages are essential to the Club as they grow older and move through the groups from 5v5 / 7v7 / 9v9 before playing 11v11 which our U12 group will be playing next season and who started with Andrew as U5’s.

FINALLY

A big “THANK YOU” to our existing and new Committee Members who put their invaluable efforts into the background administration of the Club. The Committee is still looking for a volunteer to act as our Grants Officer which as highlighted in a recent communique from our Chairman is a role that is vital to the Clubs financial health and well-being. If anybody would like information on what this role entails please please get in touch.

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY FOR THE NEW SEASON – KEEP HAVING FUN AND DON’T FORGET TO READ YOUR TEAMS POST MATCH REPORTS ON THE RESULTS PAGE
