U12’s finalists at YMCA Football Festival 2019 – Sunday 19th May

A brilliant afternoon in the sun yesterday at the 2019 YMCA Football Festival where our U12 team reached the final against Clifton Rangers who, after full time at 0-0, won 5-4 on penalties.

On the way through the group stages the lads played against some of the leagues “TOP GUNS” to be faced with the seasons winners of Division One, Westend “A” in the semi-finals.

The boys were absolutely outstanding as they worked their “HTJFC” socks off kicking “uphill” against an opposition which also had a B and C team in the competition which both made it through to play each other in the Runners up shield final.

Back to the semi final…………….

After conceding a goal, from an extremely well thought out training ground set piece with two players “dummying” an incoming corner ball before being smashed into the net, our lads heads didn’t drop and they showed their true grit, work rate and resolve leading to two outstanding goals from our Captain, Luke, and Vice Captain, Sam, to beat the Div 1 league winners 2-1…..

Without wanting to steal any more “thunder”, for a real insight into what a great days football it was, follow the hyperlink below to the U12 results page and click on the microphone to read our very own “Clark Kent’s Team Managers Post-Match report” .
